Short Bio

I am a mathematical engineer, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Free University of Brussels). In 2007 I received the engineering degree in Electrical Engineering (Burgerlijk Werktuigkundig-Elektrotechnisch Ingenieur) from KU Leuven, Belgium. In September 2013 I obtained my PhD degree at KU Leuven/ESAT-STADIUS, with a dissertation on the topic of solving systems of polynomial equations with the use of linear algebra methods. Since October 2013 I am working at VUB on tensor-based methods for block-oriented system identification.

My research interests are in linear algebra, tensor decompositions and multilinear algebra, polynomial system solving and polynomial algebra, computational algebraic geometry, signal processing, systems theory, control theory, system identification, realization theory, multidimensional systems theory, networks (graphs), machine learning, kernel methods.
